Awkward? Brilliant? Furniture?

Stumbled across this. It's called “Chairless” designed by Alejandro Aravena and is a 'minimal chair' produced by the German furniture company Vitra.

It's marketed as a chairless seating device for the 'modern nomad' and simply consists of a sturdy strap of fabric which allows its user to sit down in a relaxed manner – but with neither seat nor backrest. Basically a big looped aeroplane seatbelt that straps around you.

Light and tiny, could be good for festivals? picnics over the park? hmmm...

Innovative yes - but can't help thinking you could just make one yourself?
